New York Brass Band

Hailing from the historic city of York, New York Brass Band are North Yorkshire’s only contemporary New Orleans–inspired brass band. Since their formation in 2011, they’ve been rocking weddings, igniting festivals, and electrifying sports events across the UK and Europe.

A fitting tribute to a group that’s built its reputation on raw energy, irresistible grooves, and total audience connection. Featuring some of Yorkshire’s finest musicians on trumpets, trombones, sax, sousaphone, and percussion, the band performs over 60 tunes completely from memory—no sheet music, no backing tracks, no gimmicks.

Their repertoire spans jazz, pop, reggae, funk, New Orleans, and ska, and every performance is a joyful, interactive experience. Whether acoustic or amplified, in sunshine or rain, indoors or outdoors, New York Brass Band turn any setting into a full-blown celebration.

Blurring the line between performers and audience, they often finish their shows among the crowd—dancing on tables, leading congas under the stars, and leaving nothing but smiles and dancing feet in their wake.
